Spirit, Imperial and 9z coaches were found to be using a "coaching bug"

ESIC announced the names of the first three esports athletes who will be punished as a result of a new investigation into the use of a “coaching bug”. They turned out to be Louis “peacemaker” Tadeu, who now trains Imperial, working with Spirit Seregy "hally" Shavaev and 9z coach Rafael “zakk” Fernandez. They are accused of using cheating in 2018 - 2020. Although ESIC has already issued notices to all three that they will face punishment, no final decision has been taken on the duration of the punishment and it remains a matter of discussion.

At the same time, ESIC emphasized that it cannot influence the right of players to participate in events that are held with the participation of PGL and Valve, so the tournament organizers make their own decisions. A little later, Valve announced that all three coaches would not be able to take part in the major.

According to ESIC materials, hally and zakkk used a static version of the bug (the same one for which several dozen coaches were banned in September 2020). Louis "peacemaker" Tadeu will face a more serious punishment, since in 2018, in the match between Imperial and Heroic, he used a version of the bug that allowed him to move freely around the map. For him, the ban period can be up to two years.

In the near future we can expect publications about the punishment of other players caught using the “coaching bug”. It is likely that ESIC decided to announce these three eSports players earlier as they were about to head to the Major.
