ESL Challenger Anaheim tournament has been moved to an online format

Tournament organizer ESL announced that the ESL Challenger Anaheim event, which was planned to be held in a LAN format in North America, will be moved to Europe and will be held online due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation. For non-European teams, ESL will provide hotel accommodations so that all participants can easily travel to the bootcamp location where they will take part in the competition. This decision was made after the DreamHack Anaheim festival was canceled in December.

All regional qualifiers leading up to ESL Challenger Anaheim have already taken place. Of the qualified teams, only one (French DBL PONEY) is located in Europe. The rest (Extra Salt from North America, 9z from South America and ORDER from Australia) will have to travel to another continent to take part in the competition, which will take place in February. Four more teams will also be announced soon and will receive a direct invitation.

Despite the change in the location of the tournament and the abandonment of the LAN format, all other conditions remain the same. Teams will compete for a total prize pool of $100,000, as well as points in the Pro Tour rankings.
