Tournament operators discuss changes to the calendar

Currently, major tournament operators of CS:GO matches and the CSPPA organization, which unites professional players, are discussing the possibility of changing the schedule of tournaments this year. It usually included a summer and winter off-season, when there was a break in the games on the pro scene. This year, the off-season was supposed to begin on July 15 and end on August 15. However, the coronavirus pandemic and the transfer of many matches online have made major changes to plans. Probably this time "vacation" will begin earlier than usual and will take the whole of July.

As a result, the shift in the off-season will affect the dates of ESL One: Cologne – The tournament was previously planned to take place July 6-12. ESL is currently considering rescheduling this event for August and holding it in the studio, as public events in Germany will still be limited during this period.

The CSPPA also proposed changing the dates for the winter off-season. It will probably last not until January 7, as it was before, but until January 17. The organization of professional players explains that this was done to take into account the interests of players celebrating Orthodox Christmas. ESL, DreamHack and StarLadder have already agreed to this amendment.
