The majors agreed not to use the smoke grenade bug

All 16 teams participating in the Legends stage of PGL Major Antwerp have agreed not to use a bug that was recently discovered in the game. Previously, videos of G2 matches against Imperial and Natus Vincere were published, in which it was clear that Ilya “monesy” Osipov uses a special smoke grenade, which makes part of the screen created by his opponents invisible. Monesy used this move in both matches, allowing him to locate his opponent more effectively. Although the player claims that the tournament administration previously allowed this trick, the situation caused outrage in the community.

Representatives from many teams participating in the Major have demanded that the use of this type of grenade be banned from the tournament, as its effect is clearly a bug. However, on Saturday PGL confirmed that it will allow it to be used during the Major and in the future.

To avoid disagreements, all participants in the Legends stage entered into a “gentleman’s agreement” that they will not use this technique in subsequent matches. This was confirmed by CSPAA (an organization that unites professional CS:GO players). Its representative Martin "STYKO" Stick, who took charge of organizing the participant vote on this issue, reported that “all teams at the Major agreed not to use the smoke grenade bug.”
