DreamHack has revealed the competition schedule for the summer

Tournament organizer DreamHack spoke about the new schedule for summer games. Previously, it was planned that competitions for different regions would take place in Valencia, Montreal and Hyderabad. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to move all events online.

The competition will be broadcast from the Monster Energy DreamHack studio located in Stockholm, and all participants will join the matches online from the comfort of their own home. For each region, the tournament will be divided into two parts. For Europe and North America the prize fund will be $100,000 each, and for Asia and Oceania – $50,000 each.

The lists of invited teams have not yet been announced. It is known that in each region the competition will be held in two stages. In the European region, based on the results of the open qualification, four teams will be selected, which will meet with four invited participants and will compete in the first stage for two places in the next round and a prize of $10,000. Six teams will go directly to the second stage. Tournaments will be held in a similar format in other regions.

The timing of the open qualification is expected to become known in the next two weeks. DreamHack was also told that the second stage of the European tournament will take place in early July, and the second stage of the North American tournament – after the break, in mid-August.
