Co-owner of Maincast studio Vitaly «v1lat» Volochai made critical remarks against the organizers of the Flashpoint league. In his opinion, the organizers of this tournament exaggerate their organizational abilities and at the same time baselessly criticize other companies such as ESL and Starladder. Volochai believes that Flashpoint is greatly overrated – in fact, the competition turned out to be uninteresting for large broadcasters such as Maincast or WePlay, despite the fact that there are significant teams from the CIS in the bracket. Therefore, despite the fact that Flashpoint now has huge budgets, its future prospects are unclear. The tournament is almost not covered in languages other than English, and the statements of the leaders on the Internet look defiant.
In turn, Duncan “Thorin” Shields, creative director at Flashpoint, said the tournament has the potential to become dominant and overtake ESL in popularity if at least four of the world's top players are included in the field. At the same time, he reproached representatives at ESL for incompetence, and it is not surprising that this statement seemed too harsh to many.
The second season of Flashpoint is set to end on December 6th. The main feature of the league is that its founders are several e-sports organizations that acquired a permanent slot in the list of participants by contributing a certain amount to the tournament.
