Criticism of the sticker pack, which was released on October 21st, was heard almost immediately, and was voiced by many, including content creators, professional players and collectors. It turned out that the set did not include all the signatures of the players that were originally planned to be added, and some of the inscriptions were difficult to read.
Poor design and missing signatures
The sticker set caused disappointment among many community members who follow such updates and collect in-game items. One of the main problems was that the signatures were written in white lines on a light background. Because of this, if you put a sticker on a weapon, it became almost unreadable. For holographic stickers, the problem was even stronger than for paper ones due to the additional visual effect.
Some participants of the major were also dissatisfied. After the release of the set in the game, several players published their own signature options that they proposed – It turned out that in the end Valve opted for more minimalistic designs. Update with fixes
Thus, less than a week after the release, Valve had to release an update to the sticker set. Shadows were added to the paper and holographic stickers to add contrast to the background. The remaining types of stickers remained unchanged, since no such problems arose with them. This decision was considered by some to be “lazy”, since the developers did not rework the design of individual images, but simply added a common effect for all.
