Valve announced that it will be accepting applications from potential organizers of the next majors until June 21, 2022. It also mentioned that it plans to announce on June 28 where the two main CS:GO events will be held in 2023. Valve has previously published additional information for organizers, including detailed competition rules, requirements for RMR tournaments and other recommendations.
In an email sent to tournament organizers, Valve notes that the company running the Major will also be responsible for regional qualifiers such as RMR tournaments and open qualifiers. However, they must be completed at least two weeks before the start of the main event.
Thus, Valve plans to hold two majors in 2023 – in May and November, similar to this year's tournament schedule. They will use the set of rules published in February, but changes will be made to it in subsequent months.
In addition, Valve will prioritize regions that have already hosted successful events of this caliber in order to minimize problems associated with anti-epidemic travel restrictions. Although the company calls June 28 the date when the places for the 2023 majors will be determined, they will most likely be announced a little later.
