In his recent interview, the head of the Virtus.Pro club said that the team is not going to limit itself to one roster in this discipline. In the near future they plan to assemble a second roster to give more young players the opportunity to prove themselves. Sergei Glamazda hopes that this will provide an opportunity to experiment, working out more different tactical schemes.
The selection of players for the second squad will be carried out separately. It is likely that e-sportsmen who have performed well in the FACEIT Pro League or other similar tournaments will be able to join the team. There will also be qualifying games, based on the results of which pro players will also get a chance to get a place on the team. It is possible that both methods will be combined – some participants will be invited for their existing achievements, and the remaining places will be distributed based on the results of a special tournament.
According to the head of Virtus.Pro, one of the reasons for this decision – the desire to make the selection as objective as possible. He strives to be minimally influenced by the player's acquaintances and social circle: everyone who has sufficient skills by the standards of the professional scene should have a chance to make the team.
The main task of the new roster will be to search for talent – perhaps some of the players will then be able to move into the main team. A few months ago, NAVI made a similar decision, creating a youth team NAVI Junior.
