Virtus.pro, which competes in foreign tournaments under the name Oustiders, topped the world rankings after winning the IEM Rio Major. The tournament ended on Sunday, November 13, and Jami's team "Jame" Ali, who was previously ranked sixth, managed to gain enough ranking points to jump straight to first place for the first time in her history. This achievement was unexpected for many analysts, since before the start of the tournament many did not consider Outsiders as a contender for victory.
Heroic also moved up to the top and is now in second place. Cloud9 now completes the top 3. Next come Natus Vincere, which dropped out of the tournament in the quarterfinals, and FURIA, which reached the semifinals of the playoffs.
At the end of the tournament, the biggest losers in the rankings were Vitality, FaZe and Liquid, who before the major occupied the first three places on the list, and now found themselves in seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively. G2 also lost several positions, unable to qualify for the major and now finds itself in 12th place.
The ranking takes into account major achievements of teams over the past year, with recent victories carrying more weight. Performance statistics over the last three months are also taken into account. In addition, victories in LAN events and competitions held online have different weights.
