Midweek, Virtus.pro won the Pinnacle Fall Series 1 tournament in Belgrade, thus securing a place at the LAN Sweet LAN, which is scheduled to take place next year. In addition, the winners received a cash reward of $40,000.
Thanks to their high place in the world rankings, Virtus.pro received an invitation directly to the Pinnacle Cup playoffs, and did not need to go through the group qualifying. On the way to victory, Virtus.pro won matches with Copenhagen Flames, FaZe and SKADE. A surprise for many was the entry into the finals of the Bulgarian SKADE, which managed to beat BIG and Spirit during the tournament. However, despite the impressive results in the first games, the team of Georgi “SHiPZ” was unable to cope with Virtus.pro. Grigorov never succeeded.
On the first map of the final match, Overpass, the Bulgarian team confidently held the initiative and soon led with a score of 2 – 8. However, later Virtus.pro were able to pull themselves together, regain the advantage and reduce the map to an almost equal fight, which ended with a score of 16 – 11 in favor of the team from the CIS. The second map was Dust2, and Virtus.pro won it without any problems with a score of 16 – 8.
Thanks to the victory in this tournament, Virtus.pro receives a slot at LAN Sweet LAN 2022. This tournament with a prize pool of $250,000 will also be held in Belgrade, and its start is scheduled for April 1, 2022.
