Wisla Krakow has announced that it will dissolve its esports division at the end of July. The Krakow football club of the same name has been developing its activities in this area since October 2019, when it acquired the roster of the Polish team adwokacik. Over the next three years, Wisla Krakow remained one of the most prominent teams in its region and entered the top 50 in the world rankings.
The captain of the team was Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamalek, who played a key role in the squad from the very beginning and only left in July 2022. As of July 15, when the management of Wisla Krakow announced the closure of the project, the team included coach Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski, Krizek “Goofy” Gorski and Kamil "Sobol" Sobolevsky.
Over the past three years, Wisla Krakow has performed at several regional LAN events, and in 2021 became the winner of the ESL Polish Championship Autumn Finals. In 2022, the team qualified for the IEM Katowice play-in stage, rising to a record 24th place in the world rankings. However, by the end of June, she fell out of the top 50 and only managed to qualify for one offline event. As a result, by the end of June, SZPERO and two other players left the team. Now Loord plans to continue his career in eSports as a coach, and the other former members of Wisla Krakow have not yet spoken about their plans.
