Heroic has confirmed that it will include Jacob “jabbi” Nygaard, who previously played for Copenhagen Flames. The e-sportsman, who is now eighteen years old, will take the place of Ismail “refrezh” Ali, who was inactive last Saturday. The organization explained this decision by saying that over the past year the team has not been able to “take the final step” and win at least one major trophy after returning to LAN tournaments. Its representatives also noted that the team “is ready to risk something good for the chance to become the best.”
Jabbi played for Copenhagen Flames for almost two years, and during this time he averaged a rating of 1.08. Despite his youth, he managed to accumulate a lot of experience, having been to the last two majors, and at PGL Major Antwerp his team made it to the playoffs. Heroic boss Oliver Walsgaard noted that in Jakob the organization is acquiring one of Denmark's most promising players: “He is very mature for his age, has excellent communication skills and good aim. He is determined to work hard and is constantly looking for opportunities to improve his game.
The new Heroic lineup has already started training and is set to debut at IEM Cologne. The Danish team will begin participation in the tournament from the play-in stage on July 5.
