Anniversary update: the return of Tuscan and holiday stickers

On the night of August 17, Valve published an update celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the game's release. The main innovation was the updated Tuscan map, well known to shooter fans since the days of Counter-Strike 1.6. In the previous update, the redesigned map was already added to the game, but now it is also available in competitive mode. It should be taken into account that Tuscan is not included in the Active Duty list, which means that you should not expect its appearance at official matches.

The Tuscan remake has been in the works for about two years, and the developers' goal was to bring one of the most famous maps from 1.6 up to a more modern level of graphics. The style of the map reproduces the landscapes of southern Italy.

This update also includes a capsule with holiday stickers selected as part of a competition among community members. It can drop one of over sixty colorful decorative items that players can use to decorate their weapons.

Interestingly, after the update was released, CS:GO concurrent online numbers exceeded one million for the first time since April 2022. It hovered around 600,000 users throughout the summer months, but the anniversary update has clearly attracted new players and encouraged those who left the game for a while to return.
