On April 17, the first round of the European RMR tournament, which is held according to the Swiss system, ended. 16 teams competed for eight slots at the major. Based on the results of the starting matches, all participants were divided into two groups depending on whether they won or lost. As a result, the bracket for the second round was formed, which began in the afternoon of the same day.
The results of most of the first round matches were quite expected: the favorites in the starting pairs managed to win without any particular difficulties. In particular, Vitality, despite its recent problems, won by a significant margin against Dignitas, largely thanks to the efforts of Matthew "ZyWoo" Erbo. fnatic demonstrated approximately the same difference in levels in the match against GamerLegion: it beat the latter with a score of 16 – 5 on Nuke, with Valentin “poizon” Vasilev achieved an impressive rating of 1.99.
The most difficult thing was to predict the result of the confrontation between MOUZ and OG, since at the moment the teams occupy neighboring places in the ranking. As a result, OG won on Mirage without much effort, gaining an advantage from the change of sides and ultimately ending the match with a score of 16 – 12. Finally, the German BIG dealt with the Portuguese SAW without any problems (16 – 5).
In the second round of the Swiss qualifying round, the teams, now divided into two groups, will play another series of matches in the best-of-1 format.
