The ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web in Field-Tested (FT) pairs a dark-red blade under a semi-matte lacquer with black handles that have no inserts. It is the CS2 butterfly. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The finish has a single case, the Operation Breakout Weapon Case. The float scale runs from 0.06 to 0.80 and all five wears sit on it, with Field-Tested given the 0.15 to 0.38 band.
What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web looks like in Field-Tested
The base of the blade is red, crossed by thin dark threads of the web. Valve describes the finish as hydrographics with a web design over a red base, topped with semi-matte lacquer. The handles are dark gray, almost black, with no colored stripes, and the latch is red.
In Field-Tested the blade's tip and the ribs of the handles already show wear. The condition is set at the drop, which is why copies from the edges of the 0.15 to 0.38 band remain different.
Where the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web came from
Crimson Web is a 2014 finish. On the butterfly it arrived with the model itself, in the Operation Breakout Weapon Case, and that case is still the only one it has.
Phase and pattern
The pattern is rolled on this finish. The pattern index changes where the web sits and how many centers it has across the blade. Copies with one or two centers are ordinary, while those with three or more are the rarest and the most expensive. Crimson Web has no phases, and the item title does not state the number of centers, so you count them in the listing's image.
What to check before buying
What matters when buying the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web:
- the number of web centers in the listing image: the price within one wear depends on it;
- the float: in this wear the band is 0.15 to 0.38, and listings from its edges look different;
- the name on the knife: a name tag is allowed, but stickers are not provided;
- the version: a StatTrak copy counts as a separate item.
What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web costs in Field-Tested
The wears of Crimson Web are far apart in price. Factory New costs about 7.4 times as much, and Minimal Wear 1.6 times. Well-Worn is a twentieth cheaper, Battle-Scarred a sixth.
In Field-Tested, five butterfly finishes are ahead of it: Slaughter, Blue Steel, Autotronic, Damascus Steel and Case Hardened. The last two are higher by only a few percent. Lore and Black Laminate are 5 to 6 percent lower, and Stained an eighth lower.
Getting the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web
The ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web drops from the Operation Breakout Weapon Case, and the wear and the number of web centers are random. The second route is a contract: five Covert skins of one collection make one rare special item, but you cannot choose its pattern. The web you want comes only from a ready listing.
Is there a StatTrak version
A StatTrak version of the ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web exists in the game.
Who this wear suits
The ★ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web is worth buying in this wear if:
- you want a red blade beside black handles, and Factory New costs more than seven times as much;
- your CS2 loadout calls for a red blade on black handles;
- the pattern matters more than the float: within this wear, listings differ precisely by their web.
