★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2 (Factory New)

The ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2 in Factory New is the dearest of the four ordinary Doppler phases on this model. Covert rank, ★ mark. The source is the Spectrum Case and the Spectrum 2 Case. Float never climbs above 0.08, so there are exactly two conditions: Factory New (FN) and Minimal Wear (MW).

What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2 looks like in Factory New

The blade is a bright pink streaked with purple and violet, darkening at the heel and turning violet toward the spine. The swirls are soft, with white glints along the edge, and the metal carries no stamps. The handles are black, a crimson-red stripe down each half, and the latch is pink.

The float bounds are 0.00 and 0.07, a narrow strip where copies barely differ. Minimal Wear breaks the edge and the toe first, then the handle ribs; in Factory New no metal is exposed.

Where the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2 came from

Valve authored the finish, and Doppler has no outside artist. On this knife it came out on March 15, 2017, the same day as the Spectrum Case; the Spectrum 2 Case followed later. Valve titled that update "Take a trip to the Canals". The catalog number is 418. The model dates to 2014, three years of it without Doppler.

Phase and pattern

On Doppler the phase belongs to the item name: Phases 1 through 4 are ordinary, Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl the rare variants known as gems. Phase 2 is an ordinary one, which changes how a copy is chosen. A gem's blade is filled with one color; here the index moves the ratio of pink to purple and where it sits on the front side.

Copies of Phase 2 therefore differ, and the good ones sell for more. Pink dominating the front is called BTA Pink in CS2, and a blade with no purple left is Max Pink, or Pink Galaxy. Such indexes are gathered into tier lists, and the top tiers cost more. On a small preview Phase 2 gets confused with Ruby: scarlet blade, red-orange handle stripe.

What to check before buying

Points to weigh:

• the pattern index and a screenshot of the front side, which set the share of pink;

• the phase in the listing name: a gem and an ordinary phase are different items;

• the applied name, since the knife takes a name tag, while stickers never do;

• the StatTrak version, with its own page and price.

What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2 costs in Factory New

Minimal Wear runs about a tenth dearer — the worn condition above the clean one, rare in CS2.

Among the butterfly knife's Covert finishes Phase 2 is sixth: only Crimson Web, the emerald Gamma Doppler, Sapphire, Ruby and Black Pearl ask more. Phase 4 is about one and a half times cheaper, Phase 1 twice.

Getting the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2

Both cases give the knife as a rare ★ item, and the phase is random: Phase 2 cannot be ordered at the opening. The second route is a craft from five Covert skins of one collection, also returning a random gold weapon. Phase and index are chosen in a finished listing alone.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version exists for the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Phase 2; no Souvenir release.

Who this wear suits
