What the ★ Karambit | Crimson Web looks like in Factory New

Red lacquer covers the sickle blade, and a near-black web lies over it. The red is darker near the heel and lightens almost to pink at the edge. The threads are thin and converge on a few knots, densest at the heel and across the middle. The handle with its finger grooves stays black and gray, and only the ring is painted red. The jimping on the spine keeps its color.

Float here runs 0.06 to 0.07, and at those values the artwork reads in full. The inner curve of the edge and the ring break down first on a karambit, and the web tears near the edge before the middle. Factory New has no such bald patches: the lacquer is intact on curve and ring alike.

Phase and pattern

The web differs from copy to copy. The pattern index moves it along the blade and changes how many centers the threads spread from. One or two centers is usual; three or more counts as the rarest and dearest.

None of that appears in the item name, so the pattern is checked on the listing image. The web falls in clusters, and they land differently from copy to copy: near the heel, across the middle of the face, or right at the edge. The 0.06 to 0.07 band is narrow, so the price spread inside the wear is small. Between wears it is large: Minimal Wear (MW) costs six times less. Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred hold at roughly one level, around an eleventh of the Factory New price.

Among the Covert karambit finishes, Crimson Web ranks fourth. Only Doppler Ruby, Doppler Black Pearl and Gamma Doppler Emerald are dearer. Doppler Sapphire gives way to the web, and the ordinary second phase of Gamma Doppler costs nearly three times less. The cheapest Covert finishes on the model, Bright Water and Freehand, trail it by about ten times.

Getting the ★ Karambit | Crimson Web

There are two roads. The CS:GO Weapon Case gives the knife up as the rare ★ item, with a random wear, and the same finish sits in several other cases from those years.

The other is the contract: five Covert skins of one collection return a random gold item. Neither model nor finish nor float can be ordered that way, so a particular wear means a ready listing.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the ★ Karambit | Crimson Web exists in game; no souvenir release was made.

Buy this wear for three reasons:

• the web reads whole, with nothing interrupting it at the edge or the heel;
