In Factory New the ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby is the model's second priciest Covert finish, directly behind Black Pearl. Ruby is one of the three Doppler gems and the only one red throughout. The rank is Covert, marked with a ★ before the name. The wear scale in CS2 ends at 0.08 here, so the finish has two conditions: Factory New and Minimal Wear.
What the ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby looks like in Factory New
Scarlet lacquer covers the flat of the crescent blade and the finger ring, while the grooved handle stays gray-green. The marbling runs large, with pink and dark cherry patches alternating across the steel. Toward the tip the blade lightens, and white highlights follow the top edge. Jimping on the spine by the heel keeps its color.
The float band here is 0.00 to 0.07. Scratches on a karambit settle on the inner curve, the tip and the ring, where red gives way to pale metal. Factory New leaves all three intact, and the white highlights stay part of the artwork, not a sign of use.
Phase and pattern
The phase is written into the product name, so Ruby comes by choice rather than luck. Doppler has seven variants altogether: Phases 1 through 4, plus the gems Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl.
Spread inside one phase comes from the pattern index, which rearranges colors across the blade's face and shifts their proportions. Phase 2 copies of that sort earned names of their own, BTA Pink and Pink Galaxy. On Ruby the index moves the texture overlay sitting on the red.
Where the ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby came from
The finish is Valve's own work, with no Workshop entry behind it, and Valve's catalog of finishes numbers it 415. Doppler entered the game on January 8, 2015 in the Full Spectrum update, alongside the first of the Chroma cases. A later note touches the finish too: on May 24, 2024 a fix to Doppler's appearance shipped.
What to check before buying
What to compare when picking a copy:
- the phase in the name, since pink Phase 2 copies read almost like Ruby in a thumbnail;
- the float, as the ceiling for Factory New is 0.07;
- an applied name, because a name tag on a knife survives the transfer;
- the version, as the StatTrak copy is sold as a separate item.
The scale allots this condition only 0.00 to 0.07, so copies come out similar.
What the ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby costs in Factory New
Only Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl stands above Ruby on this model, and the gap between them is small. Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald comes next under Ruby, then Karambit | Crimson Web. Doppler Sapphire runs about a third lower. The model's cheapest Covert finish, Bright Water, trails by around fourteen times.
Minimal Wear on Ruby occupies the top of the scale alone, 0.07 to 0.08, which leaves the rest of the range to Factory New.
Getting the ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby
Three Chroma cases hand this knife over: the Chroma Case first, then Chroma 2, then Chroma 3. Opening one does not let you pick the phase. That leaves the contract, where five Covert skins from one collection assemble into a rare special item, also random.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The knife has a StatTrak version in the game and no Souvenir edition.
Who this wear suits
Factory New makes sense on this gem when:
- a red blade on the crescent is what you want, not the dark pearl of Black Pearl;
- the loadout rests on red and black, and the ring and blade give one tone;
- a clean tip and inner curve matter, since Minimal Wear lightens both before anything else.
