Description

Factory New (FN) on the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire is the upper of two wears. The blue lacquer is intact, and the white-blue flash in the middle of the blade shows across its full width. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The Doppler finish on this model is handed out by the Chroma series of cases. The finish's own scale tops out at 0.08, so only Minimal Wear (MW) sits below.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire looks like in Factory New

Blue with a violet cast covers the whole curve of the blade, and a large white-blue patch sits in the middle of the face. It is shifted toward the spine, and at the heel and the tip the tone goes dark. The boundary between white and blue is soft. The finger ring is blue too, while the gray-green handle takes no paint.

In this wear the knife sits in a 0.00 to 0.07 band. Wear takes the ring and the inner curve of the edge first and barely touches the light patch. In Factory New the blue is even along the spine and toward the tip alike.

Phase and pattern

Sapphire occurs only on Doppler: neither Gamma Doppler nor any other finish has such a gem. The phase is written into the item name, so in CS2 the gem is chosen, not pulled from a case.

Within Sapphire, the pattern index sets the width of the light flash and the shift of the patch across the face. Some sources call Sapphire the priciest phase of the series, but in the StatTrak™ line of the karambit three other gems of the model cost more. Sources also confirm a premium for a lucky index in different ways, and it cannot be relied on.

Where the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire came from

Valve itself drew the finish, and Doppler has no Steam Workshop artist's submission. The Valve finish catalog carries number 416. The karambit got Doppler on January 8, 2015, in the Full Spectrum update, together with the first Chroma case. The look adjustment of Doppler in CS2 is covered in a Valve post dated May 24, 2024.

What to check before buying

Listings of the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire are chosen by these signs:

  • the counter reading: the number is in the listing and passes to the buyer with the knife;

  • the phase: Phase 4 gives almost solid blue copies, and they get confused with Sapphire;

  • the float: inside the wear the look does not change, but the number is checked before paying;

  • the applied name: a name tag works on this model, and someone else's text comes with the knife.

On the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire the 0.00 to 0.07 spread is so small that choosing by float makes no sense.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire costs in Factory New

There is no counter premium here at all: the normal version of Sapphire starts some five percent above the StatTrak™ variant. Of the karambit's four gems, Sapphire is the cheapest; above it come Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl, Karambit | Doppler Ruby and Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald. The order in the StatTrak™ line does not match the normal one. Karambit | Case Hardened with a counter costs more than Sapphire, while without a counter that finish sits noticeably lower.

Minimal Wear gets only the tail, 0.07 to 0.08, and Factory New takes the other seven hundredths.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire

The knife comes from the Chroma series of cases: the Chroma Case, the Chroma 2 Case and the Chroma 3 Case hand it over as a rare ★ item. Neither the phase nor the counter can be ordered at opening.

Sapphire cannot be targeted through a craft either: five Covert skins of one collection give a random knife or gloves. StatTrak™ comes out of such a contract only when the counter is on all the inputs.

StatTrak and Normal

This finish also exists without a counter, and here its starting price is even higher. There is no Souvenir release.

Who this wear suits

Factory New on the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Doppler Sapphire is justified in these cases:

  • you want a counter and do not want to pay extra for it: here it adds nothing to the price;

  • you want an inexpensive entry into this model's gems;

  • the white flash in the middle of the blade should be intact and the ring free of bare spots;

  • the set calls for a clean blue, not green or pearl.
