This is the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge in Minimal Wear (MW), the second-best of the skin's five wears. The paint is still clean, and the price runs almost three times below Factory New. Covert rank, The Falchion Collection.
What the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge looks like in Minimal Wear
Three paints make up the skin. Graphite covers the stock, grip, magazine and the underside of the handguard. Mint green sits on the top of the handguard, the gas block and the front sight. Red-orange swirls with light blue flecks gather on the receiver, and a red line runs under the barrel.
In Minimal Wear the wear is limited to small things: light scuffs on the raised edges of the handguard and receiver. The mint color and the red artwork stay whole. A copy keeps this look for good, because float is set when the skin drops.
Where the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge came from
PoignantEnvy drew the skin. In his Workshop description he wrote that he had tried different colors and liked this combination. Its number in Valve's catalog is 474. The skin shipped with The Falchion Collection itself, which was released on May 26, 2015.
What to check before buying
Here is what counts when picking a listing:
- a float inside the band from 0.07 to 0.15;
- what the previous owner left on the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge: stickers and a name tag.
The float of the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge in this wear lies between 0.07 and 0.15. That stretch is short, so the difference between listings disappears into the noise. The artwork is fixed, and price does not depend on pattern.
What the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge costs in Minimal Wear
Set against Minimal Wear, the other wears stand like this:
- Factory New is almost three times dearer;
- Field-Tested sits one and a half times below;
- Well-Worn is almost twice as cheap;
- Battle-Scarred is a little more than twice as cheap.
The price slides evenly down from Minimal Wear, with no drops, and the main premium sits at the top, at Factory New.
Within the Covert AK-47s, the skin in this wear is sixth from the bottom. Below it stand AK-47 | Asiimov and AK-47 | Inheritance, each cheaper by about a tenth. Lower still are AK-47 | Head Shot, AK-47 | Legion of Anubis and AK-47 | Aphrodite, the cheapest of them. Above it are AK-47 | Nightwish, dearer by about an eighth, and AK-47 | Neon Rider, dearer by about a sixth. The summit of the row is AK-47 | Fire Serpent, AK-47 | Gold Arabesque and AK-47 | Wild Lotus.
Getting the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge
The skin comes out of the Falchion Case. The other route is a trade-up: a contract for the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge takes ten skins from the rank below, all from one collection. Among the Covert skins of the collection, this rifle comes out at odds of one in two. The Covert rank of The Falchion Collection also leads into a craft for the Falchion Knife.
StatTrak and Souvenir
StatTrak is available for the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge. Souvenir packages never existed for this finish: they were made only for tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be assembled by hand, because Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge
With three colors on the skin there are few neutral spots. The dark stock and grip take any sticker, while on the red-orange artwork of the receiver stickers get lost. Mint and turquoise stickers merge with the handguard, so black and white ones work better there.
Who this wear suits
Buying the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge in Minimal Wear is worth it if:
- you want nearly clean paint without the price of the top wear;
- the red-orange artwork on the receiver has to read as a whole;
- the choice is between Minimal Wear and Field-Tested, and Field-Tested is only one and a half times cheaper.
Playing CS2 gives no reason to pay extra: a skin's wear has no effect on shooting.
