The AK-47 | Baroque Purple in Minimal Wear (MW) is an Industrial Grade AK-47 from The Canals Collection, with a fine ornament in an Italian spirit. The float range of this wear runs from 0.07 to 0.15, and the skin exists across the whole wear scale, from 0.00 to 1.00. No case contains the finish: a player can get it through a trade-up contract.
What the AK-47 | Baroque Purple looks like in Minimal Wear
Valve describes the finish as an intricate hydrographic pattern in an Italian spirit. The forend, the handguard overlay, the receiver cover, the grip and the stock are covered in a fine light ornament that runs in curls over a dark gray-violet base. The magazine and barrel stay dark gray with no pattern. The purple here is muted, closer to graphite with a cool undertone. Valve's tagline is "Last Supper is served."
Minimal Wear is the 0.07 to 0.15 segment, light wear. It is written into the float and fixed at drop, so the skin stays exactly as it is.
Where the AK-47 | Baroque Purple came from
The finish belongs to The Canals Collection. It appeared in November 2019 with Operation Shattered Web: Valve named it among the operation's four new collections, alongside Norse, St. Marc and Shattered Web itself. The collection is named after the Canals map.
The finish's number in the Valve catalog is 745.
What to check before buying
Before taking an AK-47 | Baroque Purple, look at these points:
- float: the closer to 0.07, the fewer signs of wear;
- any stickers and a name tag already applied to that copy.
The artwork on the AK-47 | Baroque Purple is applied identically across the whole run. The 0.07 to 0.15 spread is so small that choosing by float is pointless.
What the AK-47 | Baroque Purple costs in Minimal Wear
Against this wear, the others cost as follows:
- Factory New costs about seven and a half times more;
- Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are each cheaper by about one and a half to two times.
The three lowest wears cost almost the same, and Minimal Wear is the last one where the wear is still light.
Among Industrial Grade AK-47s, this skin in this wear sits in the middle of a row of six. AK-47 | Predator and AK-47 | Jungle Spray cost about twice as much. AK-47 | Safari Mesh, AK-47 | VariCamo Grey and AK-47 | Olive Polycam are cheaper by thirty times and more.
Getting the AK-47 | Baroque Purple
No case contains the AK-47 | Baroque Purple. You can get it through a trade-up: ten skins of the rank below from the collection go into it. The Canals Collection has four Industrial Grade skins, so the odds are one in four.
StatTrak and Souvenir
There has never been a StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Baroque Purple. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish either: they existed only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself, though. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why a stray Souvenir copy turns up now and then even where no packages ever existed.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Baroque Purple
The fine ornament leaves almost no smooth spots, so small stickers get lost in it. On the dark gray-violet base, white, gold and light blue stickers stand out, while black and dark purple ones merge. The magazine, with no pattern, remains the cleanest zone, including in a CS2 craft.
Who this wear suits
An AK-47 | Baroque Purple in Minimal Wear is a sensible choice in these cases:
- you want an AK-47 with an ornament for CS2, and the wear should stay light;
- you do not want to pay seven and a half times more for Factory New;
- a better condition than the three lowest wears matters to you, even at a surcharge of one and a half to two times.
If wear does not matter, the three lowest wears cost almost the same.
