AK-47 | Jaguar (Factory New)

Factory New (FN) is the cleanest of the five wears of the AK-47 | Jaguar. It costs more than three times as much as Minimal Wear and about four and a quarter times as much as each of the three lowest wears. The skin is Covert and drops from the eSports 2014 Summer Case. This is an AK-47 for the Terrorist side, and in CS2 it plays in green camouflage.

What the AK-47 | Jaguar looks like in Factory New

Valve describes the artwork as a panther against tiger-stripe camouflage. On the rifle itself the camouflage is a marsh green broken up by sand-colored and dark swirls, laid over the handguard, the receiver sides, the pistol grip and the magazine. The receiver cover is a dark olive that nearly reads as black. A large cat is drawn across it in thin sandy-green lines, with the head near the front sight and the body stretched back toward the rear sight. A small red dot by the front of the receiver is the figure's eye. Ginger wood remains on the stock and lower guard, and dark metal on the barrel and gas tube.

In Factory New the paint is untouched: the green borders of the handguard, the ribs of the magazine and the corners of the receiver sides are all intact. The cat outline runs unbroken, including at the folds of the cover, where on worn copies it breaks first. Wear is set when the item drops and never changes, so a copy this clean stays clean for good.

Where the AK-47 | Jaguar came from

Valve made the AK-47 | Jaguar artwork in-house, and no Steam Workshop submission stands behind this finish. The skin was released on July 10, 2014. In the Valve finish catalog it carries number 316.

What to check before buying

On the AK-47 | Jaguar, these are worth comparing:

• the float: this wear covers 7% of the skin's scale, from 0.00 to 0.07;


• any name tag and stickers, which come with the listing;


• the cat outline on the receiver cover, which on a factory copy is unbroken.

The pattern index changes nothing on the AK-47 | Jaguar. There is little to choose by float either, since the 0.00 to 0.07 band is short.

Getting the AK-47 | Jaguar

The skin drops from the eSports 2014 Summer Case. A trade-up into the AK-47 | Jaguar takes ten skins from the step below, all from the same collection; the collection holds two Covert skins, so the rifle is one outcome of two. The Jaguar can also feed a craft itself: five Covert skins from the collection yield a random knife, either the Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit or M9 Bayonet.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Jaguar has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish, because those were made only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory. That is why the odd Souvenir copy turns up even where no packages ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Jaguar

The flattest surface on the rifle is the dark receiver cover. The cat outline lies on it, though, and a sticker on top would hide the main element of the artwork. The ginger wood of the stock gives a warm single-color backdrop: white and light blue stickers read clearly against it, while red and orange ones blend into the wood.

Who this wear suits

The AK-47 | Jaguar in Factory New is worth buying when:

• you want green camouflage without pale scuffs on the edges;


• the cat outline has to stay whole across the receiver cover;


• the rifle is for a collection of eSports 2014 Summer skins rather than for everyday play.
