AK-47 | Neon Rider (Factory New)

The AK-47 | Neon Rider in Factory New (FN) is the state in which the neon is untouched by wear. The float band is 0.00 to 0.07, which is 9% of the skin's own scale, cut off at 0.80. It is a Covert rifle that drops from the Horizon Case and plays on the Terrorist side in CS2. Minimal Wear costs 2.7 times less than Factory New, and the three lowest wears are cheaper by more than three times.

What the AK-47 | Neon Rider looks like in Factory New

The base of the artwork is purple, with two neon paints laid over it: turquoise and pink. The turquoise lies on the handguard and stock as a halftone of small dark dots, while the barrel and magazine are flooded pink. A helmeted biker is on the receiver with a turquoise pulse line drawn beside him. The magazine carries NEON in large letters.

In Factory New the paint is clean: the turquoise and pink fills have not dulled, and the halftone reads along the full length. The lettering on the magazine and the pulse line are intact. A copy's wear is set at the drop and never changes, so this look stays with the specific listing.

Where the AK-47 | Neon Rider came from

The finish's designer is Puffin. Shin Rigman posted the submission "AK-47 | Neon Rider IV (Director's Cut)" to the Steam Workshop on May 9, 2018. In the description the author says he redid the artwork after community feedback. He ran patterns along the top of the barrel to tie the weapon together, and added normal maps for a more interesting surface.

The AK-47 | Neon Rider entered the game on August 1, 2018, and its number in Valve's catalog is 707.

What to check before buying

Several things set apart one listing of the AK-47 | Neon Rider from another:

• float: in this wear the band is a short stretch from 0.00 to 0.07, so there is no point chasing the number;

• stickers left by a previous owner, and any rename on the AK-47 | Neon Rider;

• whether the turquoise halftone on the handguard is whole: in Factory New it is.

No pattern variants exist for the AK-47 | Neon Rider, so the artwork leaves nothing to choose by.

What the AK-47 | Neon Rider costs in Factory New

The other wears are cheaper than Factory New:

• Minimal Wear: 2.7 times;

• Well-Worn: 3.35 times;

• Field-Tested: 4.15 times;

• Battle-Scarred: 4.45 times.

The ladder has a kink: Well-Worn sits above Field-Tested. Among the twenty-four Covert AK-47 skins with a price in this wear, six cost less and seventeen cost more. Above it stand the AK-47 | The Oligarch, the AK-47 | The Empress and the AK-47 | Neon Revolution. Below it are the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge and the AK-47 | Bloodsport. The cheapest in the rank is the AK-47 | Legion of Anubis, and the most expensive is the AK-47 | Wild Lotus.

Getting the AK-47 | Neon Rider

The skin's source is the Horizon Case. The trade-up contract for the AK-47 | Neon Rider takes ten Classified skins from the same collection. The set has two Covert skins, so the chance of landing this rifle is one in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Neon Rider is available with StatTrak. Souvenir packages were never put out for this finish, since tournament map collections were the only ones to get them. A Souvenir copy can still be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is how a lone Souvenir copy ends up on the market even where no package ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Neon Rider

On a clean receiver a sticker competes with nothing but the artwork itself, not with scuffs. White and yellow stickers separate from the purple, while pink and turquoise ones repeat the skin's own colors and blend in. The calmest spots are the stock and barrel, and the biker on the receiver is better left open.

Who this wear suits

Factory New is worth the money for the AK-47 | Neon Rider when:

• you want a neon AK for CS2 with untouched paint;

• it matters that the pulse line and the lettering on the magazine read in full;

• the rifle is going into a collection as the cleanest copy from the Horizon Case.
