The AK-47 | Wild Lotus in Minimal Wear (MW) is valued because the fine detail of the painting is intact. This grade runs inside 0.07–0.15. The rank is Covert, the set is The St. Marc Collection, and this skin has never been in a case.

What the AK-47 | Wild Lotus looks like in Minimal Wear

The flowers are large, red and pink-crimson, with small berries between the buds, all of it on an emerald base over dark green foliage. A peach-beige stripe stretches under the handguard, across the magazine well and over the grip. Another red flower sits on the stock, the barrel is dark brown, the gas tube ring and trigger brass.

The most prominent spot is a large red flower with a pale spiky center at the receiver's back. The promised lotus is nowhere on the model: the shapes are nearer to passionflower and peony, though Valve describes the artwork as an orange lotus on green. Only the barrel's muzzle end and the front sight are left bare.

Wear here is pointlike and sits on the edges: the handguard edge and the magazine back lighten, where the peach stripe and thin stems run. They stay continuous to the top of the band, and the flowers on the flat sides and receiver cover go untouched.

Where the AK-47 | Wild Lotus came from

The St. Marc Collection appeared on November 18, 2019, the day Operation Shattered Web began, and the note for it lists the set among four new weapon collections. The finish has no outside author: it was painted inside Valve, with no Steam Workshop submission behind it. Its number in Valve's catalog is 724.

What to check before buying

Inside 0.07–0.15 there is nothing to sift for, so a copy comes down to:

• the float, since closer to 0.15 the first pale specks surface on the handguard edge;


• stickers and a rename, because someone else's name tag stays with the listing;


• the peach-beige stripe, which in this grade reads along the full handguard.

No lucky pattern can be drawn: the flowers sit in identical places on every copy.

What the AK-47 | Wild Lotus costs in Minimal Wear

The other grades, against this one:

• Factory New is about half again as expensive;


• Field-Tested about a quarter cheaper;


• Well-Worn almost half;


• Battle-Scarred about two and a half times cheaper.

Moving up from Field-Tested costs a quarter of the price and buys a whole peach stripe and clean handguard edges.

Among Covert AK-47 finishes it is first of twenty-four by price here. The nearest, Gold Arabesque, is about seven times cheaper; Fire Serpent and X-Ray about ten. Aphrodite is cheapest in the rank.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Wild Lotus

The finish is awkward for craft: no free background, so any sticker lands on foliage or a flower. Only small pale logos hold on a body like this. Yellow and gold pick up the brass gas tube, red and crimson drown in the flowers.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear is justified when:

• an almost untouched look is wanted without the full Factory New premium;


• the whole peach stripe and unbroken stems on the magazine back matter;


• the rifle goes into a collection rather than into daily CS2.

On screen the gap to Field-Tested is hard to read, while the price differs by a quarter. For combat that is an overpayment for edges.
