AK-47 | X-Ray (Field-Tested)

Field-Tested (FT) is the widest of the middle wears of the AK-47 | X-Ray, at 23 percent of the scale, and in price it sits mid-ladder. The skin is Covert rank, from The Havoc Collection. It appeared on December 3, 2020, when the collection was added to the game. No CS2 case holds it, and it has no StatTrak™ version.

What the AK-47 | X-Ray looks like in Field-Tested

The rifle keeps to a single palette of orange, red and gold. The stock is light and amber, and the handguard and receiver are red, dark in places, with the outlines of internal parts showing on them as paler lines. The magazine resembles a transparent clip, with transverse ribs running along its whole length.

In this wear, scuffing is already visible on the edges: the fill along the handguard and receiver turns paler. Float is fixed at the drop and does not climb, so a copy's look will not change.

What to check before buying

What matters when buying the AK-47 | X-Ray:

• float: values here run from 0.15 to 0.38, and listings within that band look noticeably different from one another;


• the name and stickers already on a copy;


• the light stock, which shows first how far wear has gone.

Getting the AK-47 | X-Ray

Through a trade-up: ten skins one step down from the same collection, which means AWP | Silk Tiger and MAC-10 | Hot Snakes. The collection has one Covert skin, and the contract hands over exactly that one.

StatTrak and Souvenir

StatTrak™ was never made for the AK-47 | X-Ray. Souvenir packages for this finish did not exist either, because they were reserved for the tournament map collections. Even so, a souvenir copy can be made yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies golden tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory. So the odd souvenir copy shows up now and then, in a place where no packages were ever issued.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | X-Ray

On a worn red background, high-contrast stickers read less well than on a clean one, but the fill itself hides small scratches. White and light-blue stickers work well. The golden stock suits both light and dark stickers, while red and orange ones get lost on it.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested makes sense for the AK-47 | X-Ray under these conditions:

• you want a Covert AK for CS2 without the Factory New price but with an intact fill;


• you have time to choose a listing by number, since the band from 0.15 to 0.38 is wide;


• the overall look matters more than the absence of scuffs on the edges.
