The M4A1-S | Black Lotus in Battle-Scarred (BS) is a Classified rifle from The Kilowatt Collection, with a black lotus on a blue-violet ground. The float runs from 0.45 to 0.70, where the skin's scale ends. In CS2 this rifle costs less than in Factory New or Minimal Wear, but not less than in Field-Tested.
What the M4A1-S | Black Lotus looks like in Battle-Scarred
The base is a deep violet. Branches with leaves of pale blue lines run along the handguard, receiver and stock, and white flowers open on the handguard and receiver. A single dark orange flower sits on the side of the receiver. The barrel, suppressor and magazine are graphite, and the grip is gray.
In this wear the float scale of the M4A1-S | Black Lotus lies between 0.45 and 0.70. The top is cut off: no copies exist above 0.70, and Battle-Scarred takes more than a third of the skin's scale. At this float the scuffs are more visible than in any other wear, and the wear of a copy is fixed at drop.
Where the M4A1-S | Black Lotus came from
The Steam Workshop entry for this skin dates from September 17, 2023, and the artist behind it is moonfighter. He wrote that the Black Lotus series was redone for CS2 in full, and hoped players would like the fresh feel of a familiar skin.
February 6, 2024 is the date the Kilowatt Collection and the Kilowatt Case shipped, and the Black Lotus was there at once.
What to check before buying
When choosing an M4A1-S | Black Lotus in this wear, look at:
- the float: the nearer to 0.45, the cleaner the paint, and by 0.70 the scuffs are at their maximum;
- stickers and a name tag already on this copy of the M4A1-S | Black Lotus;
- the version: the skin has a StatTrak variant, and a listing shows it right away.
The band of 0.45 to 0.70 leaves room to choose: copies near 0.45 are cleaner. There is no choosing by artwork on this skin at all.
What the M4A1-S | Black Lotus costs in Battle-Scarred
On this skin price does not follow the order of wear:
- Factory New costs 2.9 times more;
- Minimal Wear costs 1.5 times more;
- Well-Worn costs about a quarter more;
- Field-Tested is about ten percent cheaper.
The cheapest wear here is Field-Tested, not the bottom one. Battle-Scarred is second from the bottom by price.
Ranked by price in this wear, the Classified M4A1-S skins put it third from the bottom out of twelve. Only the M4A1-S | Stratosphere and M4A1-S | Solitude are cheaper. The M4A1-S | Control Panel is a few percent pricier, and the M4A1-S | Party Animal and M4A1-S | Nightmare about one and a half times. The top of the row belongs to the M4A1-S | Atomic Alloy, M4A1-S | Guardian and M4A1-S | Master Piece.
Getting the M4A1-S | Black Lotus
The skin drops from the Kilowatt Case. No other case carries it.
A contract produces it if you feed in ten Restricted skins from Kilowatt, for example the Five-SeveN | Hybrid and MP7 | Just Smile. There are three Classified skins in the collection, so the chance of this rifle is one in three.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The M4A1-S | Black Lotus has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages exist for it, but a Souvenir copy can be assembled through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Black Lotus
Branches and flowers fill almost the entire handguard and receiver, so small stickers sink into them while large ones read. White and yellow stickers contrast on the violet; blue and violet ones blend into the lines. The orange flower on the receiver is best left free.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is the sensible wear for an M4A1-S | Black Lotus when:
- you want a rifle with the lotus artwork and don't want to pay extra for clean paint;
- scuffs don't bother you, and you judge the price against Minimal Wear and the higher wears;
- the float range of 0.45 to 0.70 and the choice within it matter to you.
