M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S (Battle-Scarred)

The M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S in Battle-Scarred (BS) is the cheapest version of the green M4A1-S with a dinosaur in the breach. This wear covers floats from 0.45 to 0.80. The skin's own ceiling is 0.80, and Battle-Scarred takes 44% of its scale. It is a Restricted skin that drops from the Revolution Case.

What the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S looks like in Battle-Scarred

A green rifle with a ragged breach in the side of the receiver. A bone-colored dinosaur snout with an orange-red eye pushes out of the hole, and black claw marks spread from it. The magazine is bright yellow, the carry handle burgundy, and the pistol grip and trigger are left bare. Valve describes the skin this way: a dinosaur tearing through the side of the weapon with its claws.

In Battle-Scarred the green is rubbed off the ribs of the ridged suppressor and handguard, and the scuffing continues onto the edges of the magazine and the carry handle. The breach sits on the flat side of the receiver and stays recognizable longer than the rest of the artwork. Wear is set at drop and does not change, and the limit for every copy is a float of 0.80.

Where the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S came from

Credit for the artwork goes to Sparkwire. The submission was in the Steam Workshop from October 14, 2020, under the title "Feeding Frenzy | Park Ranger | M4A1-S". The author described the series as three takes on a single 3D effect: a velociraptor ripping through the gun's metal as if it were paper.

The M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S appeared on February 9, 2023, when the Revolution Collection was added to the game. Valve's note on the update called the case a set of seventeen skins by community authors. In Valve's catalog the skin carries number 1223.

What to check before buying

In a listing, these are the points that count:

• the float: between 0.45 and 0.80 there is a noticeable difference in scuffing;


• the ribs of the handguard and suppressor, where the green goes first;


• whichever stickers and name tag this particular copy already carries.

Every copy is printed with the same artwork. Between 0.45 and 0.80 the copies differ enough that comparing several listings is worth the time.

What the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S costs in Battle-Scarred

This is the cheapest wear of the skin:

• Factory New is pricier by almost five times;


• Minimal Wear costs twice as much;


• Field-Tested is pricier by only a little;


• Well-Worn is pricier by about a quarter.

Among the eight Restricted M4A1-S skins with a price in this wear, the Emphorosaur-S is the cheapest. The nearest one above is the M4A1-S | Nitro, about a sixth pricier, followed by the M4A1-S | Night Terror and the M4A1-S | Electrum. The M4A1-S | Liquidation costs twice as much and the M4A1-S | Glitched Paint two and a half times. The top of the rank is held by the M4A1-S | Flashback and the M4A1-S | Basilisk.

Getting the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S

The main route is the Revolution Case in CS2; no other case holds this skin. A trade-up for it takes ten skins from the rank below, all from one collection. The Revolution Collection has five Restricted skins, so the chance of landing the one you want is one in five.

StatTrak and Souvenir

StatTrak is available for the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S. Souvenir versions of the finish exist too, yet no packages of that kind were released for it; they were limited to the tournament map collections. Any such copy comes from the Souvenir-O-Matic, which adds gold tournament stickers and a player's autograph to an ordinary inventory skin.

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S

The free space is on the stock and the front of the handguard, where there are no claw marks. Do not hand the breach with the snout over to a sticker: the scene of the skin hangs on it. The yellow magazine carries small lettering and hatching, and a sticker gets lost there.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred makes sense in three cases:

• you want a Restricted M4A1-S in CS2 at the skin's lowest price;


• scuffed green does not bother you, but you need the breach scene whole;


• the pistol grip and stock are going to carry stickers rather than be inspected up close.

If you want green without scuffing on the ribs, look at Minimal Wear: it costs twice as much.
