M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S (Factory New)

Factory New (FN) is the priciest version of the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S, roughly five times the most worn grade. The rifle is a glossy, bright green, and in the side of the receiver gapes a breach from which the bony head of a velociraptor pushes out. Floats here fall within 0.00 to 0.07, and only in this grade does the green keep its gloss along the full length. It is a Restricted rank skin that drops from the Revolution Case for CS2.

What the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S looks like in Factory New

Green dominates: the suppressor, handguard, receiver and stock are all painted in it. The carry handle and the top of the receiver are burgundy-red, and stripes of the same color run down over the green. The magazine is bright yellow with a dark diagonal hatch, and gray rounds show in its window. Only the pistol grip and trigger are left bare.

The whole scene is gathered at one point, above the magazine well. The metal edges are torn outward there, and in the breach sits the bone-cream head of the lizard with an orange-red eye. Four black claw marks lead from the hole onto the handguard and toward the magazine window.

In Factory New the gloss is even on every surface, with no pale metal anywhere. The ribbed suppressor and the handguard ribs are untouched, and these are exactly the places where the green gives way first in every other grade.

Where the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S came from

The finish was drawn by a Steam Workshop artist who goes by Sparkwire. The work sat on the Workshop from October 14, 2020, under the working title "Feeding Frenzy | Park Ranger | M4A1-S", in a park-ranger color scheme. The Revolution Collection with this skin came out on February 9, 2023.

With the submission Sparkwire attached a note on the velociraptor: a predator the size of a leopard, fast, with one large claw on each foot. The author repeated the same dimensional trick in three works of the series.

In the announcement of the update Valve listed the case contents: seventeen finishes by community authors and, as the rare special item, gloves from the Clutch Collection. Valve's catalog numbers the finish 1223.

What to check before buying

Before buying an M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S, check the following:

• the float, which confirms it is really the top grade and not a borderline Minimal Wear;


• the ribs of the suppressor and handguard: on a clean copy the green runs there without pale scrapes;


• stickers and a name tag left by the previous owner.

There is no "rare" pattern to buy on the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S: all copies carry the same artwork.

The spread of 0.00 to 0.07 is so small that there is no reason to pick by float.

What the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S costs in Factory New

The gap to the other grades is large:

• Minimal Wear is cheaper by roughly two and a half times;


• Field-Tested by roughly four and a half times;


• Well-Worn is cheaper by four times and Battle-Scarred by five.

Among Restricted M4A1-S finishes this one is second from the bottom of nine in this grade. Only M4A1-S | Night Terror costs less. M4A1-S | Electrum and M4A1-S | Glitched Paint are dearer by two and a half times, M4A1-S | Liquidation and M4A1-S | Nitro by five. The top of the rank belongs to M4A1-S | Basilisk, M4A1-S | Flashback and M4A1-S | Icarus Fell.

Getting the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S

The first route is the Revolution Case; this finish has no other case. The second is a trade-up: ten skins one rank down from the same collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S

The M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

The green body is loud on its own, so stickers are chosen for contrast. White, black and yellow ones sit well beside the magazine, while green and teal ones get lost on it. There is not much free room: the stock and the front of the handguard. The breach with the head is not given to a sticker, since that is what the skin is bought for.

Who this wear suits

Factory New on the M4A1-S | Emphorosaur-S makes sense under these conditions:

• an even green gloss matters, since in the lower grades it dulls first;


• the rifle is for inspecting and screenshots, not for fighting;


• an expensive craft is planned on a perfect base.

For ordinary play in CS2 the extra is debatable: Minimal Wear looks almost the same and costs two and a half times less.
