Description

R8 Revolver | Amber Fade in Factory New (FN): a chrome base with a smooth transition from green to gold and copper. The band for this wear lies between 0.00 and 0.07, against a finish ceiling of 0.40. It is a Classified skin, and the revolver belongs to the Dust 2 Collection.

What the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade looks like in Factory New

Valve describes the finish as translucent paints airbrushed over a chrome base and blending into one another. On the model the transition runs from green at the barrel, through golden yellow, to a red-brown copper tone at the cylinder and hammer. The grip is light gray, with no artwork.

Chrome shows through the paint, so the color plays with highlights and shifts with the angle of the light. In Factory New the metal is free of scratches and the transition reads cleanly. Wear is fixed at drop, so a copy picks up no further scratches.

Where the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade came from

The finish echoes the P2000 | Amber Fade from the same collection: Valve describes translucent paints over chrome for both, and they share one tagline. It reads: “It's not just a weapon, it's a conversation piece.” That is Imogen, the weapons dealer in the tutorial.

What to check before buying

Choosing one particular R8 Revolver | Amber Fade comes down to these points:

  • float: Factory New on the revolver ends at 0.07;

  • the chrome areas, where any scratch shows most;

  • a name tag and stickers already on this R8 Revolver | Amber Fade.

On the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade the spread from 0.00 to 0.07 is so small that picking by float is pointless.

What the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade costs in Factory New

In relation to Factory New, the rest of the wears stand as follows:

  • Minimal Wear costs about two and a half times less;

  • Field-Tested is cheaper by almost three times;

  • Well-Worn is dearer by about a third.

The finish scale ends at 0.40, so there are only four wears. Well-Worn gets the stretch from 0.38 to 0.40, the narrowest on the scale, and costs more than every other wear, Factory New included.

Among Classified R8 Revolver skins the row holds two finishes. The R8 Revolver | Llama Cannon costs about ten times as much.

Getting the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade

The R8 Revolver | Amber Fade has no case: the finish belongs to the souvenir packages of tournaments held on Dust II. Ten skins one step below from this collection can be traded up into an R8 Revolver | Amber Fade. Dust 2 has only one skin of the rank below, the P2000 | Amber Fade, so ten copies of it go into the contract. The collection also holds just one finish of this rank, so the odds are one in one. A contract does not lead upward from here.

StatTrak and Souvenir

There was never a StatTrak version of the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade. A souvenir version of the finish does exist: it came out in the souvenir packages of tournaments held on Dust II.

Stickers and craft on the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade

The color on the revolver changes along its length, so there is no single backdrop. Neutral stickers in white, black or silver read on any stretch of the transition. Green and gold ones blend into the paint wherever it matches them in tone. A CS2 craft gets a bright gradient accent from it.

Who this wear suits

Buying the R8 Revolver | Amber Fade in this very wear makes sense if:

  • you want scratch-free chrome under translucent paint;

  • you want a long transition of green, gold and copper on a revolver for CS2;

  • you can pay two and a half times more for a clean look than for Minimal Wear.

If a lower price matters more, Field-Tested is cheaper by almost three times, and its float runs from 0.15 to 0.38.
