What the R8 Revolver | Mauve Aside looks like in Factory New

The frame and cylinder are filled with plum acrylic and its characteristic swirls, as though the paint had spread on its own into soft transitions from dark to light. There is no artwork, only work in color. In FN the swirls are even, with no matte patches, and the edges of the transitions are crisp. On this skin wear shows on the cylinder and on the frame by the trigger guard, but in the clean wear there is nothing there. The difference from the lower wears is seen mostly in how saturated the plum is.

What to check before buying

Two signs are checked on the R8 Revolver | Mauve Aside:

• the float inside the band, since near 0.07 the plum on the edges goes slightly dull;


• stickers and name tag on the listing.

The pattern is not rolled and the swirls are the same on every copy, so hunting for a rare one is pointless.

As an input, though, the revolver works very well. Ten of them yield one Industrial Grade skin from the collection, for example the MP5-SD | Picnic or the Tec-9 | Banana Leaf. The wear of the result is calculated from the inputs, so the most battered listings are the ones taken for a trade-up, not clean FN.

No StatTrak version of the R8 Revolver | Mauve Aside was ever released, and no Souvenir packages were made for this finish either: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. An even plum fill is a calm base on which any sticker shows. White and yellow read best, while violet and blue vanish into the color. There is little room on the frame, so builds here stop at one or two stickers, set closer to the trigger guard. The skin is very cheap, so as a trial base in CS2 it suits well enough.

Who this wear suits

Factory New on the R8 Revolver | Mauve Aside is a reasonable buy if:

• you want a fresh-looking revolver for CS2 for minimal money;


• you are collecting a set in a plum and violet range;


• you need a cheap base for stickers.

The R8 seldom ends up in your hands, since it is a niche weapon. On the other hand, you hardly have to pay extra for the clean wear here.
