What the Sawed-Off | Spirit Board looks like in Factory New

The forend and stock are painted an ochre the color of old wood, with engraved letters and signs running across it. The barrel and receiver stay gray steel with dark swirls, and small symbols are visible on the barrel. Valve describes the finish as a heavily used spirit board, so the worn look is part of the design.

In Factory New the float adds no wear on top of that design. The Sawed-Off | Spirit Board spreads over only 0.00 to 0.07, so there is no point choosing by float. The band takes up 7% of the scale from 0.00 to 1.00.

Where the Sawed-Off | Spirit Board came from

Valve opened the Dreams & Nightmares contest in the Steam Workshop on July 22, 2021. The Dreams & Nightmares Case, with the selected works, came out in January 2022 and holds seventeen finishes from the Steam Workshop. The Sawed-Off | Spirit Board is Mil-Spec, the lowest rank in the set.

Getting the Sawed-Off | Spirit Board

The Sawed-Off | Spirit Board comes out of the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and no other case holds it.

In a trade-up contract this skin can only be an input: there is nothing below Mil-Spec in The Dreams & Nightmares Collection, so there is nothing to build it from. Ten Mil-Spec skins from the set do give one Restricted skin, such as G3SG1 | Dream Glade or USP-S | Ticket to Hell.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The Sawed-Off | Spirit Board has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish, because those were made only for tournament map collections. You can still build a Souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory. That is why the odd Souvenir copy turns up even where no packages ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the Sawed-Off | Spirit Board

The ochre panels carry fine engraving, and a sticker covers part of the letters. The gray steel is calmer: the background there has no large pattern.

Who this wear suits

The Sawed-Off | Spirit Board in Factory New makes sense under these conditions:

• you want the paint with no wear from the float, and the engraving intact;


• your build is organized around warm ochre tones;


• the sawed-off is going into CS2 matches on the Terrorist side, the only side that can use this model.
