SCAR-20 | Short Ochre in Factory New (FN) is a sand-yellow Consumer Grade sniper rifle with the paint fully intact. The float band for this wear lies between 0.00 and 0.07, which is 9% of the finish's scale, ending at 0.75. The skin's collection is The Radiant Collection, and it has no cases.
What the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre looks like in Factory New
Valve describes the finish as paint in various shades of yellow. The receiver, handguard and stock are sandy beige, while a saturated yellow-orange is kept for small details: the grip, the buttplate, the inserts on the rail and the scope rings. The barrel and the scope tube are dark, and against them the light body reads especially clearly.
There is no pattern in the usual sense, only two tones from one palette. In Factory New the boundary between sand and orange is even, and the paint is not rubbed down to the metal anywhere.
Where the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre came from
The finish has been in Radiant since the collection's first day. Valve released it on March 31, 2025, in the Spring Forward update, and the set joined the weekly reward list at that time. The item description carries the line "Here's some new material...".
What to check before buying
Before buying a SCAR-20 | Short Ochre, check the following:
- float: the 0.00 to 0.07 band is narrow, and listings inside it barely differ;
- the grip and the buttplate, where the orange paint should lie evenly;
- stickers and a name tag already on that copy of the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre.
The artwork of the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre is fixed and does not depend on the copy. In this wear the finish sits in a narrow 0.00 to 0.07 band, and copies are hardly distinguishable from one another.
What the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre costs in Factory New
The other wears set against this one:
- Minimal Wear is cheaper by roughly an eighth;
- Field-Tested is cheaper by roughly an eighth;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by roughly an eighth;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by roughly an eighth.
All four worn wears cost the same, and each sits the same distance below Factory New. There is a premium for untouched paint, but a small one.
Among the seven Consumer Grade SCAR-20s in this wear, the Short Ochre is second from the bottom: only the SCAR-20 | Zinc is cheaper. Above it come the SCAR-20 | Contractor, the SCAR-20 | Sand Mesh, the SCAR-20 | Army Sheen and the SCAR-20 | Stone Mosaico.
Getting the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre
The SCAR-20 | Short Ochre has never been in any case. Radiant is on the Weekly Care Package list, so the skin can be had as a drop for playtime.
A contract cannot produce the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre: Consumer Grade is the lowest rank in the collection, and there is nothing below it to feed in. The skin is useful as an input, however. Ten Consumer Grade skins from Radiant give one Industrial Grade skin. There are six of those in the collection, among them the FAMAS | Grey Ghost, the Galil AR | O-Ranger and the Tec-9 | Citric Acid.
StatTrak and Souvenir
No StatTrak version of the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre was ever released. Souvenir copies do turn up, but there were never packages for this finish, as those were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre
The light sandy body takes dark stickers: black, brown and dark blue read clearly on it. Yellow and orange stickers merge with the grip and the buttplate. The long stock and handguard leave plenty of free space for a craft.
Who this wear suits
Buying the SCAR-20 | Short Ochre in Factory New makes sense in these cases:
- you want untouched sand paint with a clean orange accent;
- the SCAR goes into a light loadout in CS2, where a dark rifle would catch the eye;
- picking by float gets you nothing, since inside 0.00 to 0.07 the difference lies in the hundredths.
The premium over the other wears is the same for each of them, so choosing among them comes down to how clean you want the paint.
