The Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra in Factory New (FN) is a red-and-gold rifle with a hydra across the receiver and stock, and golden tournament stickers. Floats in this wear fall between 0.00 and 0.07. The rank is Covert and the collection is The 2021 Mirage Collection. The finish has no regular case, and copies come from tournament Souvenir packages.
What the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra looks like in Factory New
The receiver is red-orange, with a golden-yellow panel. A hydra in brown and gold tones wraps the side of the receiver and trails back over the stock in coils, with small turquoise-green marks by its paws. An orange-yellow glow burns at the magazine window.
The barrel, bolt and scope tube are cream-white with thin coral lines, and the butt pad is white. Valve states that the scope, barrel and stock are painted white. In Factory New these light parts are clean. They are also the first to get dirty, which is why the wear is judged by eye on them.
Where the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra came from
Valve drew the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra, and there is no Steam Workshop submission for this finish. The 2021 Mirage Collection was released on September 21, 2021, and the AWP | Desert Hydra has been in it since launch. Valve's catalog lists the finish as number 819.
Valve's description recalls the myth of the hydra: cut off one head and two more appear.
What to check before buying
What matters when buying a Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra:
- the tournament, since the teams and the player on the golden stickers show which event the copy belongs to;
- the cleanness of the cream parts: the barrel, the scope tube and the butt pad;
- the name tag and golden stickers this Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra already carries.
Hunting the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra by pattern index is pointless, because the artwork does not change. The 0.00 to 0.07 spread on this skin is so small that choosing by float makes no sense.
What the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra costs in Factory New
The other wears are cheaper than this one, by these amounts:
- Minimal Wear sits about a fifth below it;
- Field-Tested comes in about one and a half times lower;
- Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred each cost about 1.6 times less.
The Factory New band takes up 12% of the finish's scale: the float ceiling here is 0.60, and the wear itself spans a stretch 0.07 wide. In this wear the Souvenir version costs about seven percent more than the regular one.
Among Covert AWPs, the regular Desert Hydra in FN is priced above AWP | Fade, AWP | CMYK and AWP | Oni Taiji. The nearest of them is more than twice cheaper. Above it, among others, stand AWP | Medusa, AWP | Dragon Lore and AWP | Gungnir.
Getting the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra
No case holds the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra. Copies come from tournament Souvenir packages for the Mirage map, such as the Stockholm 2021 Mirage Souvenir Package, and several packages contain this finish.
A trade-up cannot produce a Souvenir item, because the contract does not hand one out.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A Souvenir copy differs from a regular one by the golden tournament stickers and the player autograph. They sit on the item from the moment it comes out of the package. Souvenir items never come with StatTrak. The regular AWP | Desert Hydra in this wear has its own page and costs a few percent less.
Stickers and craft on the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra
The cream-white barrel, scope tube and butt pad are light fields where dark stickers read best. On the red-orange receiver, red and orange stickers merge into the paint.
Who this wear suits
Buying the Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra in this wear makes sense if:
- you want an AWP for CS2 in Souvenir form, with golden tournament stickers;
- the cream details must be untouched, which is what Factory New is for;
- you do not need to choose by float, since on 0.00 to 0.07 the rifles barely differ.
If Souvenir status is not needed, the regular version in the same wear is cheaper and looks the same.
