What the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Case Hardened looks like in Factory New

Only the metal is painted: brass, plus blue and violet temper colors. The handguard, stock and grip stay wooden, in a ginger brown. On one sample the top cover runs from gold to a deep blue, the magazine is almost entirely blue with a gold edge, and the front sight is blue. The layout of the patches differs from copy to copy, since the pattern index sets it.

In Factory New the temper colors are smooth, and no edge turns pale. The float of the AK-47 | Case Hardened here runs from 0.00 to 0.07. Further down the wears, the edge of the cover and the raised parts around the rivets give way first. In FN they are intact, and the blue holds its richest tone.

Valve made the finish itself, and the Steam Workshop has no submission recorded for it. The AK-47 | Case Hardened appeared in the game on August 14, 2013. Its number in Valve's catalog is 44.

The kill-counter version drops from the same CS:GO Weapon Case as the ordinary one.

A copy with a counter can also be built by contract: ten skins of the rank below from one set, and all ten must be StatTrak. The game does not allow mixing ordinary and StatTrak skins.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Case Hardened

The ordinary AK-47 | Case Hardened without a counter is a separate product with its own page and price. In Factory New it is cheaper by more than a factor of two. A StatTrak copy has no Souvenir version, because the two marks do not combine in one item.

Temper color covers every metal part, so the body has no flat, neutral background for stickers. Dense, contrasting stickers with an outline stay readable, while small logos sink into the blue and gold. Gold and white ones sit next to the brass, and cool blue ones merge with the temper.

Who this wear suits

Buying the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Case Hardened in Factory New makes sense under these conditions:

• you want a clean body and a kill counter in one item;


• the premium over the ordinary version, more than twofold, does not bother you;


• the pattern is already chosen, and you need a copy with untouched temper to go with it.

If the AK is for playing CS2 rather than for display, the wear is not critical, since a skin's wear has no effect on shooting.
