On the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot, Battle-Scarred (BS) is the bottom of the scale for the condition of the body. What you pay for here is the kill counter, not the looks. The wear range for the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot runs from 0.45 to 1.00. It is Covert rank, and the counter version drops from the Revolution Case alongside the regular one. The skin arrived in the game with the Revolution Collection, on February 9, 2023.

What the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot looks like in Battle-Scarred

A light gray, nearly whitish base is covered in layers of paint: pink, lime, turquoise and yellow patches with drips run across the receiver, handguard, magazine and stock. The gas tube is lime and the barrel is left dark. There are no separate figures; the artwork is deliberately fragmented, with scraps of lettering and splatter to pick out, larger patches on the side of the receiver and smaller ones on the stock.

A mottled base hides wear better than a plain one: the receiver edges and stock corners gray first, and the pearly sheen goes out there. The StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot in this wear is a 0.45–1.00 band, and listings from the two ends of it look different.

Where the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot came from

The artwork is signed SerQ. The artist built a whole series, "Head Shot Gun", and posted the submission for it in the Steam Workshop on April 23, 2020. He names the technique outright: graffiti in the wild style manner. The series, by the author's own account, was redone from scratch. The finish's number in Valve's catalog is 1221. Valve introduced the case itself in a note dated February 10, 2023: seventeen works by community authors, with gloves from the Clutch Case as the rare items.

Choosing a particular StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot rests on these points:

• the counter reading: the number passes to the buyer as it stands and cannot be reset;


• the float: at 0.45 the sheen is still visible on the flat surfaces, at the top of the band nearly the whole body is gray;


• stickers and a name tag: on the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot they pass with the listing.

What the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot costs in Battle-Scarred

Factory New costs four times as much, and Minimal Wear about four fifths more. Field-Tested costs about a quarter more, and Well-Worn almost the same. At the bottom of the scale neighboring wears part by a few percent.

The regular version without a counter costs more in this wear: there is no StatTrak premium here at all. Among Covert AK-47 skins with a counter, this finish is the cheapest of sixteen. The nearest above is the Legion of Anubis, about one and a half times as much; next come the Nightwish and the Oligarch, and the top of the rank is held by the Fire Serpent.

The Revolution Case hands out a counter copy in the same opening as the regular one.

It can also be built by trade-up, with a catch: all ten inputs must carry a counter, as the game does not let you mix them with regular skins. You take skins of the rank below from the same set, and the collection has two Covert finishes, so the chance is one in two.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The regular AK-47 | Head Shot without a counter has its own page, and in Battle-Scarred it costs more. No Souvenir release of this finish exists, with a counter or without.

Stickers and craft on the StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot

The paint covers nearly the whole body, and little even ground is left for a sticker: the underside of the handguard is the flattest. On the light patches dark, high-contrast logos win, while pastel ones drown in the graffiti itself. The edges here are already gray, so an expensive build is not put on such a body in CS2.

Who this wear suits

The StatTrak™ AK-47 | Head Shot in Battle-Scarred is worth buying in these situations:

• you want a kill counter and the condition of the body comes second;


• the rifle goes into CS2 matches rather than up for close inspection;


• you do not want to pay extra for whole edges and sheen.

Battle-Scarred looks the most worn of the five wears, but the counter reading does not depend on wear.
