The ★ Skeleton Knife is the plain Skeleton Knife in CS2: a knife with no skin on it, and the listing description says it is not painted. It has Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The model came out on November 19, 2019, together with Operation Shattered Web. There is no wear, no float and no pattern, so copies do not differ from one another.
What the ★ Skeleton Knife looks like
It is a double-edged dagger with a narrow blade and the point at the center. The factory grinding shows on the light steel, and three small round holes are cut near the base.
Instead of a guard there is a steel ring for a finger. The handle is elongated and wrapped in dark gray bands, with a lanyard hole at the butt. The knife gets its color from the steel and the gray wrap.
How the plain ★ Skeleton Knife differs from a skinned one
A skinned Skeleton Knife is chosen by wear and float. Without a skin there is nothing to choose:
- there is no wear, and no float is shown;
- the pattern is not randomized, and copies do not differ from one another;
- a name tag can be applied, and the name stays on the knife;
- knives have no sticker slots.
What remains is comparing the regular version with the StatTrak one.
What the ★ Skeleton Knife costs
Among Skeleton Knife skins, the plain knife sits in the middle of the row by its starting "from" price: twelve skins are cheaper and twelve are dearer. Just beneath it are Case Hardened (by a few percent), Blue Steel (by a tenth) and Damascus Steel (by a seventh).
Above it come Crimson Web (a seventh dearer), Tiger Tooth (by more than a third) and Marble Fade (more than one and a half times as much). At the top stands Doppler: Sapphire costs more than six times what the plain knife does, Ruby nine and a half times, and Black Pearl almost twelve times.
Is there a StatTrak version
Yes: the ★ StatTrak™ Skeleton Knife is listed as a separate item. The counter stays on the knife and is never reset. The StatTrak version costs barely more than the regular one, with a gap of around three percent.
Getting the ★ Skeleton Knife
The Skeleton Knife comes out of the Shattered Web Case, the Fracture Case and the Fever Case as a rare special item. The plain version sits in the same pool as the skins, so it comes up at random when a case is opened.
A trade-up contract is the fallback route: five Covert skins of one collection yield a rare special item, and you do not choose its model. The only deliberate way to buy a plain Skeleton Knife is a ready-made listing on LIS-SKINS.
Who it suits
The ★ Skeleton Knife suits you if:
- you want a dagger in light steel and gray wrap, with no artwork;
- you want a listing with no float and no pattern;
- you like the shape of the Skeleton Knife for its own sake and do not want to pay extra for a skin.
