Kinetic: Serene Honor is a Kinetic gem. Where Prismatic gems change colour, a Kinetic one changes animation: it adds or replaces movements on the hero equipping the item it is socketed in.

How Serene Honor Differs

Socketed into an item, it gives the hero one or more new animations — a different stance, a different attack, a separate motion on cast.

For Dota 2 this is the most noticeable gem type. Plenty of people never register the colour of an effect, but a changed animation shows in every action the hero takes.

It does not affect gameplay: attack speed, timings and ability animations that matter for damage stay as they were.

Where It Can Be Socketed

Kinetic gem names correspond to specific animation sets. Serene Honor is one of them, and it goes into items that carry the right socket.

Its rarity is Rare, a step below most Prismatic gems, and the price follows: Kinetic gems are generally cheaper.

Only into items with a Kinetic socket. That socket cannot be created — an item either has one or it does not.

Check the specific item you plan to put it in before buying: compatibility is decided by the item, not by the hero.

Without a socket the gem simply sits in your inventory — on its own it shows nothing in game.

Kinetic gems occupy the lower and middle part of the catalogue, a few dollars each. What this one is going for today shows in the card above.

The dearest are the ones matching popular items: demand for a gem depends on how many things in the game carry the matching socket.
