The Russian team Outsiders became the fourth team to advance to the next stage of the major from the Challenger stage. To achieve this, they had to win against forZe.
The first map of the match was Dust2, where forZe initially managed to completely block the opponents' actions. At one point, the score reached 11 – 0 in favor of forZe, and their opponents were only able to win three rounds in the first half. Moreover, three of the five Outsiders members had recorded no more than five enemy kills by the time the sides switched. In the second half of the map play, Outsiders managed to turn the situation around thanks to the efforts of Marek "YEKINDAR" Galinskis. The team won eight consecutive rounds, gaining the upper hand, but towards the end, forZe took back the advantage, finishing the map with a score of 16 – 12.
The second map was Mirage, chosen by forZe, but this time Outsiders were able to react faster to the opponent's actions. After falling behind at the start, they won six rounds in a row. After that, the forces remained equal for some time, and after the sides switched, Outsiders tipped the scales in their favor (16 – 10).
Finally, the decisive map was Inferno, which both teams had won 75% of the time according to statistics from previous matches. This was confirmed by the score, which remained nearly even until the sides switched. As on the previous map, Outsiders managed to settle the matter after the sides switched, winning Inferno with a final score of 16 – 11. Thus, Outsiders advance to the Legends stage, and their opponents will continue to fight for a spot in the next stage tomorrow.
