The American esports organization 100 Thieves has confirmed its plans to disband its CS:GO roster. Founder and leader of 100 Thieves Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag posted a video on Twitter explaining the reasons for the decision. In particular, he pointed to the fact that there is a lot of ambiguity, ambiguity and uncertainty in the world of professional CS:GO right now.
In addition, due to the coronavirus pandemic, most of the major competitions are taking place in Europe, and participation in them is becoming difficult for the organization, which has its headquarters in Los Angeles: “We discussed with the players what solutions we can offer because they put everything into the competition. They made every effort to achieve the results we wanted. Unfortunately, we do not have enough resources. Even if we try to change the roster, we will still face obstacles. The way qualifying matches and points for majors are currently structured means that any changes to the roster jeopardize the very possibility of participating in the competition.
Matthew emphasized that 100 Thieves did not want participation in the team to close off career opportunities for players. At the same time, he does not rule out that the esports organization will return to CS:GO with a new roster if the situation changes.
