Hello, MOBA lover. Today we’ll talk about what the Dota 2 lobby is, what functionality is hidden inside, and how you can have fun in single player mode using various text commands in the console. Take a seat, it will be interesting.
What is a lobby anyway? This is, in fact, a player’s personal account, through which you can create single rinks, invite friends to play against each other, or confront bots in a crowd. The list of features includes:
-
Create private matches with friends;
-
launch a map with any scenario in solo mode;
-
view bots from various developers;
-
Exploring the mechanics of each hero in the single.
And further down the list.
So let's figure out what it is and how the setup happens.
How to create a lobby in Dota 2
The process of decorating your own room is not the most difficult. The first step, of course, is to enter the game, and then click on the button with the Dota logo. After that, click “Play” and select the appropriate item.
Now you need to add all the necessary attributes to the Dota 2 lobby:
-
roller name;
-
game mode;
-
password (highly recommended);
-
visibility (we avoid publicity).
Basic settings have been completed. But this is only the beginning, since the room needs to be filled with someone else, which is what we will do next.
Add heroes to the Dota 2 lobby
To fill the lobby with activity, you need to slightly reassemble the room. To do this, go to settings and select “advanced”.
Here you can go wild to the fullest, namely:
-
enable Dota 2 cheats in the lobby;
-
assign competitive parameters;
-
set a series of games until victory;
-
Add bots to the Dota 2 lobby, assigning difficulty to each side.
One thing, this way you can only create an original map for Dota. If you want to play something custom, you should go along the “Game Library” route. — create a Lobby. Bots are selected randomly.
How to enable cheats in the Dota 2 lobby
Many have already potentially realized that in single-player mode you can create almost any chaos, because you have access to additional features of the game — cheat codes.
First, it’s worth reminding that this must be done BEFORE entering the game lobby, at the time of its creation. There is even a corresponding command provided there.
Now let's use this feature in the game. To do this, you just need to use the in-game chat, which opens by pressing Enter.
Cheats are divided into 3 categories.
Standard:
-
-lvlup — increases the level in the Dota 2 lobby to the required value (up to 25);
-
-respawn — instant rebirth near the well. It works even if the hero has not died, a kind of teleport;
-
-refresh — complete healing of health/mana/spells;
-
-gold [number] — adding gold up to 99999 coins;
-
-item [item identifier] — short answer on how to issue an item in the Dota 2 lobby (for example, -item_quelling_blade);
-
-startgame — instant start of the game;
-
-spawnrunes — spawns runes to boost gold, damage, running speed, etc.;
-
-killwards — kills all wards on the map (friends and enemies);
-
-wtf — opens all spells and resets the mana cost of their use;
-
-unwtf — does everything exactly the opposite;
-
-allvision — opens the entire map, removing the fog of war.
Interaction with NPCs:
-
-createhero [identifier] — creating any character from the game (including Roshan and other bots);
-
-createhero [identifier] [status] — similar, but with the addition of an attribute like enemy, neutral. The NPC will remain motionless, but you can test any tactics on it;
-
-levelbots [value] — pumping bots up to lvl 25;
-
-givebots [identifier] — transferring any things to the bot.
Game client optimization
-
-noipx — allows you to use more RAM on weak machines;
-
-nod3d9ex — removes the “black screen” problem when you press alt+tab frequently;
-
-noaafonts — disables font smoothing;
-
-high — assigning high priority to the game in Windows;
-
-threads [numeric value] — adding processor threads if they are idle.
Now you won’t have any questions about how to spawn heroes in the Dota 2 lobby
In general, at the stage of creating a single-player game, you can come up with a lot of scenarios for using the toolkit.
How should you perceive the game in the Dota 2 lobby in principle? Like a huge training ground for creating any tactics and strategies in general. For example, you wanted to test a new setup of things for Void in action. Of course, in the game no one will let you instantly earn a ton of gold, craft everything you need and go about your business. In the lobby — please.
Second option — testing certain tactics against bots in the company of a friend. It is advisable to hone communication skills, roles and mutual assistance between members of the campaign here, so that in the official rink you don’t blink your eyes and listen to your teammates tell you where they saw you play.
Option number 3 — an attempt to kill Roshan at speed, using conditions close to reality, why not. By the way, competitions are held in this discipline.
The main feature of the lobby — complete impunity and no limits. Mind your own business as much as you like. Create builds, choose any heroes, destroy enemy creeps and vacuum those areas of the map where you have never reached in public — no one will say a word. Plus, it's fun and greatly expands your knowledge of Dota in general. If you exclude the community and some non-obvious aspects, MOBA is quite difficult to understand, and therefore training will definitely not hurt. Especially in the company of an experienced player who knows how and can explain some non-obvious points.
