Compared to other types of weapons in CS2, the Zeus x27 looks quite unusual. For a long time, the developers did not update its appearance, but recently several new skins have been released for it. A good reason to recall the history of this weapon and explore which skins are currently available in the game.
Interesting Facts About the Zeus x27
The prototype for the Zeus x27 was the real-life electroshock weapon model – the Taser M26C, which is used by law enforcement in several countries. In reality, a taser is a non-lethal weapon used to temporarily disable an opponent by stunning them. However, in the game, opponents hit by the Zeus x27 are counted as a frag. Interestingly, the taser is considered a melee weapon, meaning it occupies the knife slot.
At the same time, a single hit to any part of the body is enough for a fatal strike. This advantage is balanced by significant limitations: the weapon is single-use, and the firing range is only four meters. Therefore, the Zeus x27 is best used from ambush or in situations where you are absolutely confident and want to demonstrate your superiority.
History of the Zeus x27
The Zeus x27, named after the ancient Greek god of thunder, was added to the game back in 2013 as part of the Arms Deal Update, but it only became purchasable in Competitive mode in 2014. Its price has changed several times, and currently it costs only $200. You rarely see the Zeus x27 used in major tournaments due to its high risk, but it does happen. For example, in 2021 at the BLAST Premier Fall Finals, Zywoo from Team Vitality successfully tased s1mple.
After the CS2 update, the design of the Zeus x27 received several visual improvements. Thanks to the new engine’s graphical features, the electric arc when firing and the hit animation now look more impressive. Shortly after that, the first skins for the Zeus x27 appeared, and the weapon became of interest to many collectors. There are currently six Zeus x27 skins available in the game, and all of them can be purchased at very attractive prices on LIS-SKINS.
Zeus x27 Dragon Snore
The most expensive skin for the taser is probably Zeus x27 Dragon Snore. Although its price can vary significantly depending on the condition, some versions can cost over fifty dollars. The reason lies in the unusual design: a cute little dragon is depicted on a white background, looking more amusing than scary.
Zeus x27 Olympus
Second in price is Zeus x27 Olympus. It was the first one released, which is why it drew significant attention from players. The body of the weapon features an image of Zeus holding a bunch of lightning bolts – perfectly matching the name.
Zeus x27 Charged Up
In a major update in spring 2025, several skins were added for this type of weapon, and Zeus x27 Charged Up is one of them. This skin from The Train Collection 2025 is painted yellow and black, with a red front. If you like minimalist skins with detailed design, this one might appeal to you.
Zeus x27 Tosai
Zeus x27 Tosai will appeal to fans of Asian-style skins. On a black background, a red-and-white koi fish is depicted in such a way that one of the gun’s structural parts becomes the fish’s eye.
Zeus x27 Electric Blue
If you’re looking for a minimalist but vibrant design, Zeus x27 Electric Blue from The Ascent Collection is just what you need. Most of the weapon’s surface is painted bright blue with a few black and cyan accents. Moreover, since 2024, stickers can be applied to the Zeus x27, making this skin a good base for creative crafts.
Zeus x27 Swamp DDPAT
Zeus x27 Swamp DDPAT remains the cheapest skin for the taser – even in good condition, it costs less than one dollar. This design from The Boreal Collection isn’t particularly bright – the entire weapon is covered with a camouflage pattern. However, fans of realistic skins might still appreciate it.
