The CS:GO update released on June 12 seems to have caused an unusual bug. One of the main goals of the update was to improve visibility on some maps. However, as a result, this mechanism turned out to work too well: more and more players report that they can see others through smoke and even through obstacles. In particular, one Reddit user demonstrated that he was able to spot an opposing player behind cover on the Nuke map, even though he was not in his field of vision. In addition, the enemy's kennel, which the user saw, reproduced his movements, so it would not be difficult to damage him by shooting through cover.
After publishing this post, many players began to report similar problems. What the nature of this bug is remains unclear. Information about it has already been sent to Valve, but no definite response has yet been received from the developers, since they have not yet been able to accurately determine the conditions under which the problem reproduces. However, the players themselves also began to build their own hypotheses. One user suggested that this phenomenon occurs due to an error in calculating what percentage of the opponent's figure is actually visible to the player.
