One of the important characteristics of the Fade pattern is the coverage percentage. The most common indicators are in the range from 80 to 100%. One hundred percent skin is also called FullFade.
But here, not everything is so simple: there is a knife whose coverage reaches 110%. This is Falchion. The fact is that his pattern covers not only the blade. but also some part of the handle. Because of this, many people believe that the maximum Fade value here can reach 110%.
Knives Karambit and Talon are also described a little differently. They do not indicate the overall percentage of the gradient on the surface, but the percentage of each color. For example, if some version of “karambit” characterized as 70/29/1, which means that most of the blade is pink, 29% is purple, and only 1% is yellow.
Pattern index
Another characteristic that you need to pay attention to is the pattern index. For each item, it can vary in the range from 1 to 1000, thus giving 1001 variations in the location of the pattern. In the case of Fadethe indicator determines in what proportion different colors will be present. At the same time, many skins with different pattern indexes look identical or almost identical.
In particular, FullFade may look similar to a skin with 99% Fade and another pattern index. However, the second option is cheaper, because it is not ideal. Because of this, when purchasing, it is important to check the pattern index so as not to be deceived and buy a “fake” one. knife instead of “one hundred percent” for a large sum.
Influence of Float
Thus, the main factors determining the price of skins of the Fade series in CS:GO are float and the pattern index. Although Fade is talked about primarily in relation to knives, the pattern is also used for firearms. Its pattern index does not affect the appearance and price so much, but it is still worth paying attention to it, for example, if you want to collect inventory that will have a common color scheme.
