Valve has released a massive update for Counter-Strike 2 that completely overhauls the map selection system in Premier mode and introduces an entirely new, incredibly dynamic mode to the game — Rush.
Rush Mode: The New 3v3 Format

Rush is a fast-paced 3v3 mode. Specifically for this, developers have prepared a pool of 15 new, more compact maps that combine diverse sightlines and vertical gameplay while retaining the recognizable spirit of CS2.
How the new mode works:
In each match, 7 maps are randomly selected from the pool. The game always starts on a "neutral" map.
It uses a "tug-of-war" style scoring system.
In the center of each map is a tower. Winning a round pushes this tower closer to the losing team's zone (onto the next map).
To win the entire match, a team must "push" the tower all the way to the enemy spawn and capture it there.
The fastest possible victory takes just 4 consecutive rounds. However, if the teams are evenly matched and trade round wins, a match can last up to 15 rounds.
The win conditions in a single round are simple: eliminate all enemies or successfully hold the tower until the timer runs out.
Premier Mode Changes: New Map Selection System

Valve has completely reworked the map selection process in Premier competitive matchmaking. The old "ban" system (taking turns eliminating maps) has been replaced by a pick system (direct selection).
This change was made to give players a better chance to play on the maps they actively practice, rather than constantly playing on random "leftovers".
Under the new system, the first team picks one map.
Then the second team picks two maps, and so on.
Now, competitive matches will become more predictable, and the drafting process more tactical.
Gameplay, Settings, and Other Additions
In addition to the new modes, the patch brings several important gameplay mechanics and highly anticipated details:
Silent Reload: You can now reload weapons silently in the game. However, keep in mind that this process will take longer than a standard noisy reload. This adds a new layer of tactics for clutches and stealthy flanks.
Return of Clan Tags: A feature the community has been requesting for a very long time has finally returned! You can now display your group tag next to your nickname on the scoreboard once again.
New Crosshair Settings: Fresh options for crosshair customization have appeared in the menu, including some very unusual variants for those who like to experiment.

New Music Kit: A new music kit called "Starjunk 95" has been added to the game.

Fixes: As usual, the update includes geometry fixes on competitive maps and the resolution of various bugs.
Why is this update so important?
This is one of the biggest content patches for CS2 in recent times. The Rush mode gives both beginners and veterans a great opportunity for quick, intense sessions that don't require a 40-minute time commitment. At the same time, the new pick system in Premier makes esports matchmaking fairer and more structured.
Will a new weapon be added to CS2?
A new rifle, M/14, has been discovered in the game files. It will most likely be similar to the existing AWP and Scout. The rifle will have a scope, and it will cost $4,100.
