The CSPPA will examine factors affecting players' mental health

The CS:GO Professional Players Association (CSPPA) has partnered with two English universities to study the mental health of esports players. The purpose of the research project – identify negative factors that influence players and understand how the situation can be improved. CSPPA strives to create a positive work environment that will help resolve issues that arise. The study will be led by scientists from the University of Chichester and Winchester.

Issues related to mental health have recently been frequently discussed on the professional esports scene. Recently, discussions on this topic have resumed with a vengeance after several players decided to temporarily stop playing, faced with fatigue due to high workloads. In particular, in March 2020, Alex “ALEX” McMeekin decided to take a break, citing his busy schedule. In May, two Astralis players took time out due to stress and burnout. Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer, who plays for FaZe, also went into inactivity to regain his strength.
