On Friday, the organization of professional Counter-Strike players CSPPA announced that its head Mads Oland is resigning. It is still unknown who will succeed him. Dane Oland will now head an organization called HK – the largest trade union for wage earners in Denmark. Oland has led the CSPPA since the organization's inception in 2018. For more than a year he managed it on a voluntary basis, combining this activity with his main job in the Danish Football Players Association. Since January 2020, he has worked only for CSPPA, having left his previous post.
Oland explained that while he is officially stepping down from the leadership of the CSPPA, he will continue to be involved in the organization, serving as an advisor to the newly created Players' Council along with another prominent member of the community, Scott "Scissors" Smith. In its statement regarding Oland's resignation from his leadership position, the CSPPA noted that it appreciates his contributions to the development of the esports community.
The CSPPA's first-of-its-kind General Assembly concluded this week. At it, a new composition of the Council of Players was elected: along with the e-sportsmen who have been participating in its activities since its founding, several new members also appeared in it.
