Canadian eSports player Damien "daps" Steele, who served as the in-game leader for Orgless, announced the dissolution of the project. On Friday, he published a post on Twitter in which he spoke about the reasons for this decision, and also shared his views on the state of CS: GO in North America.
The player explained that the initiators of the project in January 2022 were initially himself and William “RUSH” Verzhba, and they were ready to play for some time without receiving money for it. However, RUSH soon received an offer from Evil Geniuses, and daps had to deal with the further development of Orgless alone.
Despite this, he decided to continue and try to get into the American cycle of RMR tournaments. However, the team failed to pass the qualifying stage: in the first open qualifier it was defeated by ATK, and in the second – from UYU. Commenting on the failures of his project, daps noted that in practice he felt the problems of developing the professional scene in North America. In particular, he believes that there are not enough local LAN events in the region, which are critical for the development of young teams.
Daps now plans to take a break to evaluate its future capabilities. Meanwhile, one of the players who was part of Orgless, Michael "Swisher" Schmid has already joined ATK, and the plans of the others remain unclear.
