On many maps in CS:GO you can see images on the walls. There is a goose near point A on Dust2, and there are a lot of signs on Inferno. These details add atmosphere and can also be used as reference points by players. However, some of the graffiti in CS:GO – not just pictures. They were added in honor of episodes that were remembered by fans of the game and went down in the history of eSports.
Olofmeister on Fire
One of the most famous examples – graffiti in honor of Olof "olofmeister" Kajbiera on Overpass. The drawing on the wall of the yellow building at point B depicts a special forces soldier defusing a bomb while standing in the flames. This is precisely the situation in which olofmeister found himself in the semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2014. He managed to defuse the explosive device, although everything around was on fire from the Molotov. By sacrificing himself, the player brought the team a point, which allowed them to achieve a decisive advantage in the game against Dignitas.
Winged AWP
Another remarkable graffiti – winged AWP, which can be found at point B of the same map. It is inspired by an episode from the semi-finals of the MLG Major Championship Columbus 2015. Coldzera, who played for Luminosity Gaming in the match against Liquid, single-handedly finished off four enemy players with an AWP who were trying to break through to B. He hit three without using a sight, and two - in a jump. After such a show, Luminosity, which at that time was losing the map, was able to score enough points to keep it.
Attack without aiming
An image similar in spirit is also available on Cache – he can be found at the entrance to point B. In the picture you can see a winged sniper who has lost his scope. The moment this graffiti is dedicated to occurred in the semi-finals of ESL One Cologne 2016. In one of the decisive rounds, s1mple, finding himself alone against two opponents, decided to act aggressively rather than wait. He dealt with one of them by jumping on top of him, and hit the second from a long distance, but also without using a sight.
Smart grenade
And here is the graffitied moment that happened in the finals of PGL Krakow 2017, on the contrary, he demanded from the player not aggressive, but calm and calculated actions. In one of the rounds of the match between Immortals and Gambit, the players of the latter were left in the minority and decided not to try to recapture the point, preferring to keep their equipment. However, one, Mikhail Dosia Stolyarov, decided to at least try to take revenge on the enemy. Having approached the site a few seconds before the explosion, he threw a grenade so that it hit exactly the corner where the Immortals players were waiting for the end of the round. As a result, although this round remained with Immortas, in the next round Gambit managed to seize the initiative. On Inferno, for this occasion, a drawing was added depicting a bottle of perfume in the form of a grenade.
Wolf on the roof
Finally, another graffiti worth mentioning is on the roof of one of the houses on the Blacksite map. This is a map from Danger Zone, which was used in one of the exhibition matches at IEM Katowice 2019. In the final part of the battle royale, left against two players who had joined forces against him, Furlan was able to accurately calculate their location, climb onto the roof and attack them from above. In memory of this episode, graffiti appeared on Blacksite with an image of a wolf and the signatures of Furlan and GruBy, who became the winners in that match.
