Australian e-sportsman Tyson “Asap” The Rooster's Paterson received a twelve-month ban after attempting to register for a tournament by providing false information. Now, over the next year, he will not be able to participate in all events organized by ESEA, ESL and DreamHack. The problem is that he falsified documents when registering for a local tournament held by ESL Australia.
He did this to bypass the age limit for participants: the Australian is now 17 years old, and he is only allowed to compete in this tournament if he is 18. Since he had previously repeatedly competed in tournaments where the minimum allowed age was 17 years old, the organizers asked him for documents for additional verification. At that moment he sent a fake ID photo. After the organizers asked him for a video of the document to confirm its authenticity, Tyson was forced to admit that he had broken the rules. His punishment was imposed as per ESIC guidelines.
The young player's ban was another unfortunate development for the region's esports scene after seven players, including two of Tyson's teammates, were suspended for a year in October for betting on matches in their own league. In addition, in December, the Rooster team was removed from the DreamHack Masters Winter competition due to an investigation into the actions of one of its players, the details of which have not yet been disclosed.
